From the day we walked into the shop, the family have been so helpful. The chair and sofa we received is just as we wanted, nothing has been to much trouble, with a Christmas delivery after a delay obtaining materials due to world shortage. Second home visit to fit final order. I cannot recommend this company enough very professional and caring about their furniture.And more than happy to shop with them again.

After a lot of searching around for a sofa, I realised what I wanted, to what I actually needed was not going to materialise. I found an absolutely amazing company, who were willing to do exactly what I wanted, the colour I wanted too. Despite the current climate, they were still able to deliver. I can not speak highly enough about the quality, the comfort, the materials used were absolutely perfect, from beginning to end the whole team have been professional and thoughtful towards me as a customer, kept me updated with processes, never failed with responses. I had 2 pieces made to measure, I can only say how exceptionally pleased I am, that I choose this amazing company, they absolutely delivered the outcome as promised. So pleased, I would shout from the roof tops to say I strongly recommend them. If you want quality, style, bespoke with no corners cut, this is the place to be. Just to add professionalism is the icing on top. These guys surely deliver the result. Thank you so much, from one exceptionally happy customer.🤗

Not only are Taz, Zac and the team a great family run firm, their furniture looks fabulous! We are delighted with the sofas, chairs and footstools that we have just had delivered from this company. Having downsized, we had repeatedly searched the ‘usual’ shops for furniture to comfortably fit into the space available. We had also looked at other suppliers of bespoke furniture and we’re beginning to worry that we wouldn’t find anything that we really liked. Zac, Taz and Harris were friendly and helpful from the minute we walked into the shop. They are a good humoured family, who communicate well, smile and laugh easily. We explained what we were looking for and discussed preferences and practical solutions to find furniture that looks great. Their willingness to help without being ‘pushy’ was very welcome given that other retailers hadn’t given us much help or advice. Taz made suggestions about sizes and shapes of furniture that would fit the space. Taz is extremely informative about the manufacturing processes and showed us the wood, springs and a range of materials available. The team ordered samples of the selected fabrics for the sofas and scatter cushions so that we could ensure that the decor and curtains matched in perfectly. Not only does the furniture look great but it’s comfortable. Zac and Harris delivered the furniture, taking great care to position it as we required. Despite the disruption that the pandemic has created for the supply of materials, the team have managed to keep us informed about progress and deliver the goods before Christmas. We will be recommending this company to friends who want some furniture reupholstered. Thanks Taz, Zac, Harris and the team at The Designer Sofa Company. It’s been great to work with you!

We only have praise for this company. They were very helpful and lots of choices of fabric and design. Nothing was too much trouble. We purchased our suite from them about a year and a half ago now. We are still very pleased with it. It still looks brand new. Very good workmanship and good quality. Highly recommend.

I have nothing but praise for Taz and his team. They more than fulfilled my expectations with an entirely new take on a chaise longue. Taz developed the design and it all worked, with a well constructed frame and beautifully upholstered. I can certainly recommend this business if you want to own something that lasts.

We are absolutely delighted with our sofa and cannot speak highly enough of the service from Taz and all the team. We had a nightmare with access to our cottage which meant a remodelling of the sofa which was done with speed and great good humour and without additional cost. The build and upholstery quality is superb. Forget all the high street ‘special deals’ and go straight to Long Eaton! A quite outstanding company.

We purchased our sofas over 7 years ago and they still look amazing. The fabric hasn’t faded or worn and the cushions are as firm as they were when new. Would definitely recommend! 👍🏼

Where do we begin! We hunted high and low for quite some time to find a reputable business we could trust to reupholster our 17 year old Duresta, which apart from being rather dated (it being inherited from my Mum) was still in excellent condition. We knew how well made the older Duresta models are and wanted to do it justice by getting the job done right. We first made the trip up from Coventry last November, and met Ian, wonderfully welcoming, helpful and instilled confidence in us that this was the right place for our beloved Duresta to get its new lease of life!. Next trip up was in February for another look at fabrics, and finally settling on what we wanted after taking some books home and pondering for a while. Several messages later between myself and Ian, me changing my mind, coming up with new ideas, colours we finally made our decision. Ian never complained about my chopping and changing and couldn't of been more helpful We finally settled on a fabric and placed our order. COVID then hit but that was ok we could live another few months with the old version. Our sofa was eventually taken away and even though we are quite a way from Nottingham picking our sofa from Coventry was no problem which we were very grateful for. I had a few chats with Taz over the phone about cushion fillings etc, all adding to the confidence we were getting a good job done. We finally got a call to say the sofa was ready for viewing, the balance owing not payable until we had seen it and were happy with it (showing that it's not just about taking our money, they genuinely want you to be happy before paying). We took Mum with us to see the finished product and were all speechless - can you get emotional about a sofa!. The quality of workmanship was second to none, the fabric we picked which you can never be 100% sure of until you see it on the actual product was fantastic quality and we were all over the moon. I had picked contrasting fabric for scatter cushions and the workmanship on those was excellent to. Mum wanted her sofa back - of course we declined :-). Taz who we met for the first time for the viewing was amazing, informative, has a genuine passion for his trade and doing what he produces justice and he didn't dissapoint. The two lads who picked the sofa up and were also there on the day of viewing were also extremely helpful, polite and they just add to the customer service and the whole experience. The sofa was delivered to us a couple of days later and it looks amazing in our lounge. We are over the moon and would highly recommend this company to anyone who asks. Thank you so so much. Super sofa. Outstanding service from beginning to end and a fantastic product. Recommended by my brother see earlier review. The only reason my wife has forgiven him for pinching the butchers block is because of his recommendation. The sofa was worth it, a fantastic family firm.

Cannot speak too highly of these guys. From start to finish, the service we received in choosing our new suite was exemplary. Advice, ideas and even referrals to other showrooms so that we were able to feel completely satisfied with quality and value. Nothing was too much trouble and we made our decisions. Now we can't wait to see our suite. Highly recommend this company to anyone. A fabulous shopping experience!

We had been looking to replace our sofa and two armchairs for ages and we found The Designer Sofa Company by chance whilst visiting the showrooms of a large manufacturer opposite. We popped in and were immediately struck by their pride in the materials they use and in the skill they apply in hand making their furniture. They were incredibly helpful in explaining how good furniture is constructed (and how volume manufacturers often use other methods to save time). We took our time – they were very patient and we were not rushed – and ordered two sofas, one of which was to the bespoke size that we required. Prior to the agreed delivery date, the lockdown, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, started. We accepted that a delay was inevitable and was not their fault and we contacted Zac from time to time to check on progress once the lockdown was easing. When our sofas were ready, we visited Long Eaton to view them and confirm that we were happy with them. Extra customer care like this is very difficult to find nowadays. Taz is obviously passionate about the quality his company produces and wants his customers to be happy. The sofas arrived and we are delighted with them. The frames are very solid and obviously well-made and the cushions are very comfortable. Zac and his brother worked carefully to get them through several doorways and into our lounge. Thank you to Taz, Zac and the whole team for our wonderful new sofas.

If you are looking for good quality and excellent service, look no further. After looking at The Designer Sofa shop, we wouldn't go any where else.. After ordering 2 sofas, they were delayed due to the ,"Virus ". I became very stressed and worried, had we chosen the right fabric and the right style?? Eventually we were able to see our sofas. I was reduced to tears!!! They looked amazing they were soooooo comfortable. They ooze quality. We will be forever grateful that we found this small, family business, where quality is there priority. Many thanks to all who took part in the manufacture of our our wonderful furniture.

Delighted with our new sofa and the service. A genuine personal service you just don't get else where nowadays. No sales pitch just shown the quality materials and craftsmanship on offer which speaks for itself. Taz and team amazing throughout from helping us choose from the endless possibilities with fabric/design to keeping us informed and inviting us to see progress in the workshop. Even with the difficult situation we've all been in recently they have worked hard to get our sofas done with minimal delay and kept us informed throughout. Now to the finished furniture.. Wow! Surpassed our expectations which were high, oozes quality, this furniture is top notch and built to last! Can't recommend enough absolute pleasure to do business with I'd struggle to buy a 'normal sofa' again! Thanks to taz and team for the hard work we will certainly see you in the future

This is a brilliant company, staffed by helpful, flexible people who take an enormous amount of pride in their product. The sofas produced by The Designer Sofa company are absolutely top notch. Beautifully made, very robust. You genuinely get the impression when they deliver you the finished product that they love your sofa as much as you do! They're so proud of their craftsmen and upholsterers and are understandably horrified at some of the shoddy, over-priced rubbish parts of their industry are happy to churn out. All this for a good price. Given that they can make absolutely anything in any style or material you want, why would you go elsewhere? We showed them the type of arm style we wanted in a magazine, they made it. We found a wool we loved from an obscure Welsh mill, they sourced it and made a beautiful footstool out of it (which would have cost three times more if we'd bought elsewhere and would have been nowhere near as well made). A quick story to illustrate the customer care you get from Tas, Zac and the team: as they were delivering my sofa from Long Eaton and my dad still lives there, I cheekily asked if they could also deliver an item of furniture my dad was giving me because they were coming up anyway. It was a very heavy butchers block which takes three men to lift. Many businesses would have said no to the extra hassle. Not only did Tas agree without hesitation, but one of their carpenters fixed its leg while it was at their factory! Free of charge! In his lunch hour! Because "he loves anything in wood and couldn't resist it"! It's the sort of care and pride that you only get with a family company more interested in pleasing their customers than chasing a quick buck. This is the longest online review I've written for anything, ever. I don't normally bother, even if I'm pleased with what I've bought. But I felt so delighted with my sofas that I felt compelled to share what a great little family business this is.

"I never thought I'd be saying this but......today I was moved to tears by the sight of my new sofa! It was 12 wks ago that my husband and I walked into The Designer Sofa shop and met Taz and Ian. We'd been looking for a new sofa for about a year. I had an image in my head of what I wanted and despite listening to various sales patter and visiting endless furniture and department stores, I wasn't happy with the choices available. What a breath of fresh air it was to meet Taz and his team. They are all very proud and passionate about what they do and rightly so. The service they deliver is truly exceptional. The furniture is all handmade using the highest quality British hardwood and springs. The team's ethics and values take you back to a time when buying British meant you were guaranteed the highest quality product that would be reliable and sold at an honest price. Taz explained that they could make any sofa we wanted, any style, size, any fabric.....the choice is endless. There is no "hard sell" or sales banter. They don't need to. The quality speaks for itself. He then proceeded to show us how they make the furniture! He proudly introduced us to his craftsmen in the workshop next door.....no room for hierarchy there. Immediately the team's expertise, skill and honesty was apparent. Their transparency was so refreshing. True British craftsmanship is rare these days but that is what you get with The Designer Sofa team. They have kept us informed throughout the whole process, ensuring we were happy with the way the fabric would fit the frame. I've always had a second hand sofa before......so silly as it sounds........I was quite moved today when I saw my sofa completed! The "image in my head" had become a reality and is much better than I ever dreamed. It is perfect in every way, the quality and detail are astounding and it is comfortable beyond belief. "The whole process was a joy, from my first visit to The Designer Sofa to taking delivery of my sofa and stool. Taz made me very welcome & I spent hours in the showroom on several occasions trying all the sofas. I could wander round on my own if I wanted but there was always expert advice and guidance if I needed it. I then spent further hours choosing fabric & again was made really welcome to stay as long as I wanted and visit as often as I wanted. I tried to imagine how the sofa would look when it was finished but when I finally saw it I realised I had totally underestimated how fantastic it would be. I am absolutely thrilled and delighted with it. The quality of the workmanship is second to none; all the staff take great care in what they do; Taz knows exactly where all the materials are sourced and only uses the best. When my furniture was delivered yesterday the gentlemen who brought it had made the frames; they didn't just dump it in my house - they were clearly and justifiably proud of their work and took time setting it up correctly, even explaining to me which way round the cushions should go so the fabric would work to the best advantage. I recommend The Designed Sofa unreservedly to anyone wanting a really top-class product and outstanding service."

"Excellent service and experience throughout. I went to the designer sofa because I'd seen several pieces of furniture online I thought were almost perfect but never something that ticked all my boxes. So I went in and showed them some pictures and from there it was all about getting the perfect chair. I was shown the hundreds of fabrics to choose from that meet my needs in colour and resiliance, and shown and got to test the various types of cushions/fillings to decide what was most suitable for me. And then I got the opportunity to sit in a chair and ask for things like "this chair but with a deeper cushion", "the arms need to be 3 inches higher", "the back needs to be wider". Right down to the bespoke level. I was explained the types of wood used to build the frame is hardwood and not a single creak in it. And what's better is if I ever get fed up of the fabric, I can come back and get it reupholstered, because I feel I've got a chair that's actually going to last me a lifetime as opposed to a store brought from even the most highest quality of high street stores. I'm absolutely in love with the armchair and will definitely be going back in the future for a sofa."
